I loooove Dr. G. not only does she listen, but she makes you feel as though she really cares. What I especially like is that, she seems to study my case as her homework, and her follow up is exceptional.

Why Choose The Oncology Institute?

We know that experiencing cancer is a highly personal journey that is different for every individual. Whatever your cancer type, and however advanced it may be, our staff will work tirelessly to find ways to help you live better.

  • Comprehensive, evidence-based care: On average, patients of The Oncology Institute have shorter hospital stays, fewer ER visits, and more treatment satisfaction. We treat every person who comes through our doors with patience and compassion, and we constantly strive to find better ways for our patients to live more fulfilling lives while experiencing cancer.
  • On-site dispensary: Find everything you need to live with cancer during and between treatments in one location. Our Plantation facility has an on-site pharmacy where you can access all your prescriptions and refills. We work with local pharmacy specialists to ensure you can get everything you need right here.
  • Access to the latest clinical trials: Working with the latest innovations in cancer treatment means we also know about the newest clinical trials happening across the country. As our knowledge of different cancers grows, so do potential treatment avenues, and we want you to be able to experience them. Our clinical trial page has information about current availability and requirements — see if you’re ready to participate now.

While there is still more to learn about cancer, we understand that every diagnosis is different, including its treatment. The experts at The Oncology Institute have experience treating several forms of cancer, including sarcomas, carcinomas, myelomas, lymphomas, leukemias, gynecologic cancers, and central nervous system cancers.

We provide evidence-based therapies in a personalized care plan to fit your unique needs and focus on the options that will be most effective for you. We treat this variety of cancers using the following methods:

  • Chemotherapy: Chemotherapy is a common cancer treatment option that uses intravenous (IV) or oral drugs to reduce the spread of cancer cells. The type of chemotherapy you take can depend on your cancer type, stage, and your overall health.
  • Radiation therapy: Radiation therapy can be internal or external. Internal radiation uses radioactive substance injections to identify and destroy cancer cells, while external radiation therapy uses gamma rays, X-rays, or other charged particles on the cancer.
  • Immunotherapy: Immunotherapy can help an individual’s immune system recognize and target cancer cells. This treatment can reduce the disease’s effects and better preserve surrounding healthy cells.
  • Hormone therapy: Hormone therapy reduces cancers fed by naturally occurring hormones. Specifically, this therapy limits or stunts hormone production to slow the spread of the tumor.
