Biography

Luis R. Barreras, M.D., FACP, earned his medical degree from University of Miami in Miami, FL and completed his residency with Northwestern Memorial Hospital. Dr. Barreras completed multiple clinical fellowships including Internal Medicine, Medical Oncology, and Hematology at the University of Miami.

Dr. Barreras served as an Emergency Room Physician before starting his own practice, Broward Oncology Associates, P.A., in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. He currently holds medical staff privileges at several hospitals and medical centers including Holy Cross Hospital, Broward Health Imperial Point, and Broward Health Medical Center and Broward Health North. In addition, Dr. Barreras holds visiting professor status at the Annenberg Center in California and is a Clinical Assistant Professor at College of Osteopathic Medicine, Nova Southeastern University.
