Biography

Dr. Gerald H. Sokol, M.D., MSc, FCP, is a board-certified Medical Oncologist, Radiation Oncologist and Clinical Pharmacologist with over 30 years of medical and academic experience. He received his medical degree from Indiana University in Indianapolis, Indiana. He completed his residency in Internal Medicine at USPHS Hospital, in affiliation with the NCI, John Hopkins University, in Baltimore, Maryland. His residency in Radiation Oncology and training in Medical Oncology, and subsequent fellowship in Clinical pharmacology was completed at Massachusetts General Hospital, Harvard Medical School in Boston.

Dr. Sokol was an Affiliate Staff Physician at H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa, FL. He was Chief of Radiation Therapy at Tampa General Hospital and was the Director of Oncology at New Hope Cancer Center. In addition, he serves in the U.S. Navy Reserves with the rank of Captain.

Dr. Sokol is Associate Professor of Medicine and Clinical Pharmacology at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences at Walter Reed in Bethesda, Maryland and has published over 100 scientific articles, abstracts, and book chapters.

His research interest involves radiation drug interactive effects.
