Types of Cancer Treatments We Offer in Whittier

The Oncology Institute offers four primary therapy types to our patients, including:

  1. Chemotherapy
  2. Hormone therapy
  3. Immunotherapy
  4. Targeted therapy

Comprehensive Care Options

We provide numerous unique cancer care options for our patients, including:

  • TOI clinical research services: Our clinical trials run in three phases, and once completed, we do a follow-up session to check on the patient’s physical and emotional welfare. Follow-up checks also allow us to monitor long-term effects, gather additional data, and contribute valuable insights into the real-world impact of new treatments. You can work with us to find a clinical trial that suits your circumstances and be a part of an effort for the greater good.
  • Radiation oncology: Radiation therapy kills cancer cells and tumors by damaging their DNA, preventing them from growing and dividing. Our board-certified oncologists can perform external and internal radiation therapy.
  • High-value cancer care (HVCC) Program: With our HVCC Program, our patients experiencing advanced cancer have around-the-clock access to health coaches and an easy-to-use mobile-based care platform that allows them to stay engaged and informed, track and log symptoms, and look into various treatment options. This program was set up to empower patients and their families to make the best decisions for their circumstances and reduce financial strain.
  • Women’s cancer care: We specialize in treating breast cancer and gynecologic cancer. At The Oncology Institute, we know that every woman experiences cancer in her own way, so we create personalized treatment plans to accommodate specific needs.
  • Diverse treatment options: We provide cancer treatment options for more than 40 types of cancers.

About Our Diagnosis and Treatment Process

After taking into account your stage, type of cancer, and overall health, our oncologists will create a personalized plan for you. The treatment options include chemotherapy, hormone therapy, immunotherapy, and targeted therapy, with an added focus on emotional, social, and psychological support.

You can easily find the doctor you are looking for in our system by searching via their name or your location.

Post-Treatment Survivorship Care

Survivorship programs provide a supportive environment where individuals who have experienced cancer can connect with others who have had similar experiences. Sharing stories, challenges, and successes with fellow survivors is incredibly empowering and encouraging. Survivorship programs offer resources and services to help survivors regain physical strength and address emotional concerns such as anxiety and depression.
