Biography

Jack Freimann Jr., M.D. has been dedicated to providing the highest-quality care to his patients in Whittier, California, and the surrounding communities for the past 19 years. He takes an active role in hospital leadership.

Dr. Freimann is a long-standing member of the Cancer Committee at Presbyterian Intercommunity Hospital (PIH), having served as Chairman for several years and as a member of the Medical Executive Committee. He has also served as past Chairman of the Departments of Medicine at PIH and Whittier Hospital Medical Center.

Dr. Freimann is triple-board-certified in internal medicine, medical oncology, and hematology. After receiving his medical degree from UCLA, Dr. Freimann attended the prestigious MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston for his fellowship training in medical oncology and hematology. There, he participated in many areas of cancer research, particularly the area of combining chemotherapy and immunotherapy.

Dr. Freimann has presented papers at the annual meetings of the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) and the American Society of Hematology (ASH), and published articles in the Journal of Clinical Oncology and American Journal of Clinical Oncology.

Trained in treating a broad spectrum of solid tumors and benign and malignant hematologic disorders, Dr. Freimann’s particular interests are in treating breast cancer, colorectal cancer, lung cancer, prostate cancer, and lymphoma.

Dr. Freimann and his family live in Whittier. He likes to spend his free time watching the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim play at Angel Stadium. In addition to being an avid baseball fan, Dr. Freimann also enjoys the outdoors, skiing in the winter, camping, and fishing in the High Sierras in the summer.
