- Chemotherapy: Chemotherapy is a standard cancer treatment given to more than half of all cancer patients. Patients receive chemotherapy drugs orally or through intravenous (IV) injections. These medications target and reduce cancer growth and spread.
- Radiation therapy: Radiation therapy uses energy beams over the treatment area to kill cancer cells and shrink tumors. While this treatment is often done externally, it can also be done internally via injectable medications.
- Immunotherapy: Immunotherapy is a treatment that is designed to target only cancer cells, limiting damage to surrounding healthy cells. It is often paired with chemotherapy or radiation therapy to increase its effectiveness.
- Hormone therapy: Hormone therapy is for treatment against hormone-fueled cancers. Certain drugs work to block hormone production, or doctors can recommend removing the organs that are related to the hormone feeding the tumor.
