Biography

Patan Gultawatvichai, M.D. is a Board-Certified Medical Oncologist and Hematologist, currently serving as the Medical Director of The Oncology Institute of Hope & Innovation in Oregon. He completed his medical education at Rangsit University in Bangkok, Thailand, where he graduated with honors. He went on to complete his residency in internal medicine at Roger Williams Medical Center in Providence, Rhode Island, followed by a fellowship in hematology and oncology at UMass Chan Medical School.

After his fellowship, he spent six years as an Assistant Professor of Medicine at UMass Chan Medical School. In addition to providing patient care, he has taken on various roles including Medical Director of the Hepatocellular Carcinoma Program, research protocol review committee member, and teaching faculty member. From there, he joined Reliant Medical Group as a hematologist and oncologist, serving as the Specialty Content Leader in Hematology and Oncology for Optum Care while continuing his academic roles at UMass Chan Medical School.

Dr. Gultawatvichai has been extensively involved in multiple clinical trials as a principal investigator. He has authored several publications in peer-reviewed journals and presented his research at various national and international conferences. He has also written over 30 textbook chapters on topics related to hematology and oncology.
