Biography

Dr. Evan Wu is a board-certified hematologist-oncologist with expertise in translational research and development of clinical trials with a special interest in lung cancer and head and neck cancer. He earned his medical degree from the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine and completed his Internal Medicine residency at Baylor College of Medicine. He then pursued fellowship training in Medical Oncology at Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, where he also earned his Ph.D. in Clinical Trials Investigation and Biostatistics. He also holds a MS in Biostatistics from the University of Pennsylvania.
Dr. Wu has served in both academic and community oncology practices, including a faculty oncology leadership role leading the lung cancer program at the University of Hawaii Cancer Center. His research and clinical experience span first-in-human clinical trials in cellular therapy, targeted therapies in lung cancer, and novel immunotherapy agents for lung cancer and head and neck cancer. He brings a patient-centered, research-driven approach to care at The Oncology Institute and plans to develop our lung cancer of excellence in South Florida.
