Biography

Mahe Otero Hernandez, APRN, FNP-C, is a Board-Certified Nurse Practitioner with expertise in oncology, pulmonary care, and cardiovascular health. She formally worked in the pulmonary department at the Miami Veteran’s Health Administration, managing patients in Lung Cancer Screening and Incidental Lung Nodule Programs. She previously served as an Oncology Nurse Practitioner at Baptist Health Medical Group and as a Cardiac Nurse Practitioner, conducting patient assessments, developing treatment plans, and educating patients on care and prevention strategies.

Her background includes experience as a Nurse Navigator, supporting newly diagnosed cancer patients with treatment coordination, medication access, and clinical support. She has managed complex oncology cases, facilitated research and data collection, and ensured adherence to guidelines such as NCCN and LungRADSv2022 scoring. Mahe’s clinical skills include EMR systems, clinical trials, phlebotomy, and bilingual patient communication. She holds a Master of Science in Nursing and certifications as a Family Nurse Practitioner and Oncology Certified Nurse.
