Prescription Refills

Please call one of our 31 locations with the following information:

  • Practitioner's Name
  • Name of Medication
  • Pharmacy Name
  • Pharmacy Phone Number
  • Date of Last Refill

For narcotics such as Percocet, MS Contin or Oxycontin, plan to either come into the office for a written prescription or allow five days for the written prescription to be mailed. By law, your pharmacy must have a written prescription. Narcotic prescriptions cannot be written on weekends.

Insurance and Billing

If you are a new patient, you will fill out an insurance profile and discuss your options with us. We will make a copy of your
insurance card(s) for your file. Remember to contact the office at any point during your care if there is any change in your coverage.

Patients belonging to an HMO, POS or PPO must verify with their provider(s) that we are on your plan. It is also your responsibility to obtain the initial referral and bring it with you and to inform our office staff if you require pre-certification for admissions, treatments or tests.

We participate with most major insurance companies and will submit claims on your behalf. Please indicate primary and secondary carriers on your insurance profile if you are covered by more than one company. We also accept Medicare, although you will be responsible for the deductible and co-payment for physician care, chemotherapy medications and laboratory tests.

Co-payments are due at the time of your visit. We accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover and American Express. We will be happy to assist you in developing a payment plan.

Emergencies & Phone Calls

If you have an emergency, call 911. Please do not call our office until you have made arrangements to get to the hospital.

Our staff returns calls during business hours as time permits. Be sure to tell the receptionist if your call is urgent. Test results, prescription refills and other routine calls will be handled after urgent patient needs are met. Please keep in mind that our doctors and staff have demanding schedules, and it may be late afternoon or the following day before they can return non-emergency calls.

If you need to speak with us, we certainly want to hear from you. Please consult these guides to help you decide when to call:

Call day or night if you have any of the following:

  • Fever of 100.5 degrees F or higher.
  • Uncontrollable nausea or diarrhea.
  • No relief from pain medication.
  • Chest pains or shortness of breath.
  • Severe shaking or chills.
  • Bleeding from the nose or gums.
  • Blood in the urine.
  • Black, tarry bowel movement.
  • Severe diarrhea.
  • Constipation with intense abdominal cramping.
  • Changes in vision or hearing.
  • Increased bruising or red or purple pinpoints anywhere on the body.

Call during normal office hours if you:

  • Have questions about your medication, treatment or side effects.
  • Would like to change medications.
  • Are experiencing nutrition problems.
  • Need a prescription refilled.
  • Need lab tests or scans.*
  • Have heard about a new treatment.
  • Notice new numbness or tingling in your fingers or toes.

*Please note that results usually take:

  • Scans: 48-72 hours
  • Tumor Markers: 72 hours
  • Bone Marrow: 7-10 days
  • Pathology Reports: 3-5 days
