Dr. Soe Maunglay completed his premedical training at the Institute of Medicine in Yangon, Myanmar and obtained his Doctor of Medicine degree from Marmara University School of Medicine in Istanbul Turkey. He then pursued his internship and residency training in Internal Medicine at the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Advocate Christ Medical Center. During his residency, Dr. Maunglay participated in translational research at H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center and Research Institute in Tampa, Florida where he later continued his research and received Hematology and Medical Oncology fellowship training.
Dr. Maunglay has participated in many research projects and has presented his work in multiple national and international society meetings. Beyond continuing his clinical research post training, Dr. Maunglay actively participated in community outreach and clinical education. He was recognized with the 2015 Mclaren Lapeer Region Foundation’s Distinguished Physician Amber Globe award. He is fluent in Burmese and English.
