Prior to that, Khurrum was at Sharp Health Plan, a regional health plan based in San Diego. In that role, he strategically developed company-wide infrastructure to effectively implement the Medicare Compliance Program and monitor operational performance for Sharp’s newly formed Medicare line of business.
Before Sharp, Khurrum was at Santa Clara Family Health Plan, a local, community-based health plan serving more than 280,000 people throughout Santa Clara county. There he served as a subject matter expert on the management team while launching Cal MediConnect, a new pilot plan for individuals who are dually eligible for Medicare and Medi-Cal for the county of Santa Clara. In this role he developed a comprehensive Compliance Program for the organization along with standard operating procedures for all operational areas.
Most recently, Khurrum served as the Chief Compliance Officer for Troy Medicare, a pharmacy-powered Medicare Advantage company serving the most underserved communities in the US. In this role he has developed a scalable Compliance program while also providing strategic leadership around Compliance.
Khurrum received his B.A. from U.C. Santa Barbara in Political Science, his J.D. from Thomas Cooley Law School and his M.B.A. from Pepperdine University.
